Moving Poetry and Curriculum Development Institute (CDI)

• The University of Hong Kong and Curriculum Development Institute (CDI) of the Education and Manpower Bureau collaboratively sponsored two weekends of workshops in February 2003. Teachers and students and poets came together to learn more about the art and skills of writing poems, and the study of clear and accurate self-expression.
   
• New curriculum materials, including exercises and activities, are currently being developed to expand upon these widening circles. Activities in Moving Poetry are designed and refined to help late primary and early secondary students become effective readers and creative thinkers by giving them practice in the structure and features of poetic form, practice in seeing accurately, thinking closely, and organizing their observations.
