This month we are inaugurating our series of photo albums. Please go to the MEMORIES section and take a look at them. We have a large but randomly accumulated collection of photos recording the life of the Department, and the School, over the decades. Perhaps you will find yourself, your friends, or your teachers there. We hope the pictures will stimulate happy memories of your time as a student. They will remain as a permanent online picture archive of our life together.

You will see that some of these photos have detailed descriptions, about the people in them, the year they were taken, and so on. Other photos have scant information, and some have none at all. We would really like your help in filling in the gaps. So if you can give us more information about any of these photos, please let us know. Each photo has a number. Send us an email, to engalums@hku.hk, quoting the number of the photo, and giving any missing data – when the photo was taken, the names of the people in it, and so on. We will then upload the information, and in this way we will build up a more complete record.

This is just a start. Every alumna and alumnus must have some photos of their student days. So please – SEND US YOUR PHOTOS! And we will add them to our albums. Please include whatever information (date, etc) you can about each photo.

The easiest way to send the pictures is by email attachment, to engalums@hku.hk; you can give the details in the email message. But we will also be happy to receive photographic prints, which we can scan and upload. Please post these to Alumni Editors, School of English, HKU, Pokfulam Road, HK. Include a return address if you would like us to send your photos back after scanning.

SEND US YOUR PHOTOS! Alert your classmates, and get them to send theirs. In this way, our albums will continue to grow, and our memories will be refreshed. And you can come back to revisit our website, and your past, whenever and as often as you want.
