The main aim of the journal LCOM
Papers is to encourage and give merit to student work by publishing
quality course papers written in the 'Programme in Language and
Communication' and for other English language and linguistics courses in
the School of
English. Any
university teacher would readily agree that many students papers are not
only prepared with much enthusiasm and commitment to their subject, which
in itself deserves recognition, but that they often contain inspiring ideas
and valuable empirical work. Sadly, these papers are, more often than not,
lost and forgotten in the drawers of both the students and the teachers.
The journal archives this material and makes it accessible to a wider
audience.
All papers are peer-reviewed (by students in LCOM3003 and ourselves). In
editing the students’ papers we tried to preserve the individual
spirit and language use of the student authors.
Last but not least, LCOM Papers seeks to represent and make public
the work done in the 'Programme in Language and Communication'.

Coordinator)
